STREET MACHINE AUGUST ISSUE ON SALE NOW!
The August 2025 issue of Street Machine is now on shelves and should have
already hit the mailboxes of our legendary subscribers, so let’s dive in and take a
sneak peek at what’s on offer this month!
Kicking off proceedings is Mitchel Hawkins’s VR Clubby tribute, rocking a striking
shade of salmon pink that should get tongues wagging. Mitch fully intended to break
the mould with this build, and we reckon he nailed it. Oh, and it has turbo LS grunt to
shove all that salmon upstream with ease.
If you’re 24 years old or younger and have a cool car, make sure you enter our 2025
Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse Young Street Machine of the Year competition!
Why? Well, in addition to being able to show off your build to the nation’s modified
car lovers, you’ll also be in the running to share in a cash and prize pool worth
$9000! You’ll find all the details online or in the August mag, so get your YSMOTY
entry in!
August’s stellar line-up of feature cars continues with Leigh Vella’s thumping,
slammed HK Monaro, which harbours 632 cubes of fatty up front and impeccably
weathered bodywork that screams ‘use and abuse’!
Bob Grambau is back! We not only revisit Bob’s legendary EH from the 70s and 80s,
but we also check out his latest eye-popping build, a 1934 Ford coupe hot rod.
There are Fords aplenty this issue, including Nathan Boyle’s turbocharged, Dart
Windsor-powered XR Falcon, and Tarone Palmer’s slick, 580hp XP hardtop.
Events-wise, we go bush for the NPRA’s War in the Sticks event at Wilby Raceway,
one of the wildest no-prep drag racing shindigs we’ve ever had the pleasure to
witness. It made for one hell of a weekend in northern Victoria.
We also head to Shakey Nats on the outskirts of Sydney to pop tyres in authentically
old-school style, and all for a ripper cause!
Keeping cars clean is a nightmare at the best times, let alone at this dreary time of
year. So, this issue, Jimmy Allen from Fatal Finish Detailing takes us through the ins
and outs of rinseless washing – the perfect way to keep your daily or pride and joy
clean without having to subject it to a car wash.
Our regulars are firing on all cylinders this month too, including another US trip for
Arby in Urban Warfare; a nine-second, twin-turbo LS-powered LX SS hatch from
Drag Challenge; some belters from our readers in Readers’ Rockets and In The
Build, and loads more besides.
The August issue of Street Machine is out now, so get ’em while they’re hot!
