STREET MACHINE November 2025 ISSUE ON SALE NOW!
IS FORMER AFL star-turned-automotive YouTuber Charlie Dixon’s HX ute the sleepiest sleeper we’ve ever had on the cover of Street Machine? We reckon it might be!
Charlie’s ute was once his grandfather’s farm rig, and he has had it painstakingly restored into a MotorEx-level stunner. And while it might look stock with the bonnet down, the meek exterior masks a 1000hp billet RB30, Reid-case Powerglide and a beefy Watt’s link rear end, not to mention an exquisitely detailed undercarriage. What a car!
US car crafting superstars Ringbrothers already have a remarkable body of work, but their latest creation, an Aston Martin DBS dubbed ‘Octavia’, is arguably their greatest. Powered by a Harrop-blown Coyote V8, the extent of the design and engineering work in this Aston is mind-boggling.
Andrew Simmons’s HK Premier is a particularly impressive example of the model. The finer details, bodywork, panel gaps and paint are absolutely superb, and the combo of OEM Silver Mink duco and red interior is timeless. Plus, it’s packing a howling, tunnel-rammed 427ci Dart LS.
If tough four-bangers are your thing, you’re sure to get around Davor Pribicevic’s Escort RS2000. The owner-built rocket packs a staunch Nissan 578rwhp SR20VET and five-speed cog-swapper, and would be a hoot to honk through the twisties in.
Join us as we head inland for the Northern Territory’s finest horsepower hootenanny – Red CentreNATS 11. Cruising, skids, drag racing, judging and so much more – it was a hell of a time.
Stojan Stekovic’s insanely clean Calais will set VL lovers’ hearts aflutter with its stunning detailing, divine stance, and grumpy 383ci Holden V8 topped with the holy grail of plastic performance – a genuine Walkinshaw twin-throt Group A inlet manifold.
Ford fans, on the other hand, will froth Luke David’s XW Fairmont, which packs all the GT finery, some mile-wide Weld rollers, and a thumping, fuel-injected 461ci Clevor worth an impressive 850hp on pump gas.
Dubbo MotorFest is quickly emerging as a must-do event, and the 2025 running attracted plenty of heavy-hitters from the show scene, as well as some street machine heroes from years gone by that were a joy to behold.
Roundy-roundy cars are few and far between in the pages of Street Machine, but when they’re as rad as Dylan Auton’s Time Attack Datto 1600, we’re more than happy to have them. Packing a Supercars-inspired, Kelly Racing VK56 V8, Albins transaxle and epic aero package, it’s exceptionally well engineered.
Holden’s venerable 308 is coming back into vogue, with burgeoning aftermarket support, so we head over to Holden V8 gurus BG Engines to find out all you need to know about bolting together a tough 308 for your street machine, thanks to the legends at Precision International.
We also take a retrospective look at the iconic SATNAV FC Holden; a home-built T-bucket pieced together by a 17-year-old young buck; and Simon O’Carroll’s record-shattering radial Camaro.
All this and more in the November 2025 issue of Street Machine, on sale now!
