March 2025 Street Machine on sale now!
The late, great Sam Fenech’s Summernats Grand Champion-winning LJ Torana headlines the March 2025 Street Machine, on sale now!
WHAT a remarkable story the Fenech family have to tell about their LJ Torana. Two years on from the tragic passing of their beloved patriarch, Sam, the Fenechs proudly unveiled Sam’s old LJ at Street Machine Summernats 37, painstakingly rebuilt in tribute to him. And later that weekend, Sam’s son John steered the car to Summernats Grand Champion glory!
The Torana is an elite-level stunner for the street, built the way it was early in Sam’s stewardship – with a howling Wested Performance-built, nitrous-huffing Holden V8.
Ford fans are sure to enjoy Ross Gangemi’s epic Mustang fastback. One of the finest pro tourers ever built on Aussie soil, it’s powered by the first Windsor V8 in the world to wear a Harrop 2650 blower.
We head across to Perth Motorplex for the 39th running of Motorvation to see the best the west has to offer. From bespoke burnout weapons to stunning show cars, there was plenty to check out.
Josh Sergi came to the conclusion that his VK Blue Meanie tribute was one of a cast of thousands, so he ripped it apart, painted it black and put it back together to a much higher standard.
Barra swaps are the new black, but there ain’t nothing wrong with Ford’s humble SOHC six either, as Aaron Hamilton proves with this howling, 1200hp XD.
Peter ‘Gonz’ Casati is a wildman with some crazy ideas – chief among them his Rolls-Royce V12-powered Fairlane salt racer project. We swing past and check out an open day at his Melbourne workshop.
Steve Millias’s killer HK features a fettled LSA for ample blown V8 shove, wrapped up in a classic-looking package.
For lovers of fours and rotaries, we present this CA18DET-motivated Datsun 1200 wagon. As a paint and body man, owner Michael Willoughby has poured mountains of hours into the car, and it shows.
Phil Kerjean is a stalwart of the Aussie burnout scene, and after years spent perfecting his shed space and the adjoining ‘Smokin’ Roo Bar’ at his Illawarra property, he’s calling last drinks and moving to the country. We swing past for one final beer.
Wayne Lineker’s ground-hugging Chevy C10 was built to carve corners with the absolute best of them, although it accidentally turned out a little neater than Wayne had planned.
And all the way from New Zealand we bring you the most unlikely of drift cars – a crusty old EH wagon. It might look like a roughie, but this thing packs plenty of clever engineering beneath the surface.
You’ll find all this and more in the March 2025 issue of Street Machine, on sale now!
